                                                                Deal with Bhang Hangovers

Having bhang is an integral part of Holi celebrations in India. The herbal blend made from the buds and leaves of cannabis plant is enjoyed along with the festivities of smearing and drenching everyone with colour. Bhang is prepared with milk, dry fruits and spices along with the cannabis. It is common to get a hangover which can result in headache, nausea or problems of the digestive system.

In order to keep your hangover at bay, follow the tips given below:
  • Lemon water – This is one of the common remedies for dealing with a bhang hangover. You really need to rehydrate your system and lemonade is the ideal drink for this as it also restores the salts in your body. Besides, prevent the formation of free radicals with anti-oxidants and vitamin C.
  • Herbal tea – Overdose of bhang can result in headache and you can beat this with a cup of herbal tea. Jasmine tea or rose tea are good options for countering the groggy feeling you get first thing in the morning, after revelling in bhang the night before. The advantage of having herbal tea is that it is low in caffeine and high in anti-oxidants.
  • Milkshake – If you are hungover in the morning after taking bhang, the usual tea or coffee with high caffeine content can compound your problems. You need a drink that can replenish your dehydrated body. Mix cold milk, bananas, carrots, strawberries and other nutritious berries in a blender. Add a pinch of salt and blend this mixture. The fructose contained in these fruits is a healthy form of sugar and banana being a natural antacid helps if you suffer from nausea.
  • Foods high in fibre – To counter intoxication, you can take high fibre fruits and vegetables. You can have green salad or fruit salad to effectively negate the effects of hangover.
  • Do not take painkillers – The headache caused by hangover cannot be treated by taking an aspirin. It can actually be quite harmful if you suffer from a medical condition.
  • Warm bath – Taking a bath with luke warm water is an excellent way to soothe your nerves and this instantly works to give relief from headaches and can help you get rid of a hangover.
  • Walk in fresh air – Taking a fairly brisk walk in fresh air of the morning can get rid of your hangover for good.
